Field Of Gold Akbar Birbal Story

One day, Emperor Akbar was sitting in his court. All his ministers, officials, and Birbal were present. Suddenly, an old farmer entered the court. He looked very sad and distressed.

Akbar asked the farmer, “What is the matter? Why do you look so sad?”

The farmer folded his hands and said, “Your Majesty, a great injustice has been done to me. My neighbor is trying to forcibly take over my land, claiming that it belonged to his ancestors. Please grant me justice!”

Akbar summoned the neighbor to the court. When the neighbor arrived, he said to Akbar, “Your Majesty, this land belonged to my ancestors. My forefathers left it for me. This farmer is lying and trying to take over my land.”

Akbar was unable to determine the truth of the matter. He turned to Birbal and said, “Birbal, find out the truth and deliver justice.”

Birbal smiled and said, “Your Majesty, solving this problem is not difficult. We just need to be patient.”

Birbal carefully observed both the farmer and the neighbor and said, “If this land truly belonged to your ancestors, then they must have buried something valuable in it. Let us dig the land, and if we find something, the land will be yours.”

The neighbor was very greedy. He thought that if there really was a treasure buried in the land, he could claim it too. He immediately agreed, saying, “Yes, Your Majesty, let the digging begin.”

Akbar ordered the land to be excavated. The excavation began, and after some time, Birbal turned to everyone standing there and said, “Look, we need to find something special in this land.”

Birbal instructed the workers to dig deeper. After some time, they found a chest buried in the ground. When the chest was opened, it contained some old coins and documents.

Birbal carefully read the documents and smiled. He then said to Akbar, “Your Majesty, this land is truly extraordinary.”

Akbar asked, “What is so special about it, Birbal?”

Birbal replied, “Your Majesty, gold grows in this land!”

Hearing this, everyone was astonished. The neighbor’s eyes lit up. He quickly said, “Your Majesty, I told you! This is my field!”

Birbal smiled and said, “Very well. From now on, this field is yours, but there is one condition.”

The neighbor eagerly asked, “What condition?”

Birbal replied, “If this field belongs to you, then you must grow gold in it every year because you claimed that your ancestors used to grow gold here. If you fail to grow gold in this field by next year, it will prove that you were lying.”

Now the neighbor was terrified. He hesitated and said, “But Your Majesty, how can gold grow in a field?”

Birbal smiled and said, “Then why did you lie that this land belonged to your ancestors? You must be punished for trying to seize this farmer’s land through deception.”

Now Akbar understood the truth. He declared that the land would remain with the rightful owner, the farmer, and the neighbor would be punished for lying and being greedy.

The farmer was overjoyed and thanked Akbar and Birbal.
